The Egyptian galleries on the ground floor of the British Museum, are particulary atmospheric. The sculpture in the centre, is of the head of Rameses II 1270 BC from Thebes. Also in this gallery, the Rosetta stone, a granite sculpture of Sesosteris III, and many other fine works. From here you can visit the Assyrian, Greek, Attic, Indian, and Chinese galleries
